Tuesday 9 June
The first day is all about arriving, settling in, meeting people and discussing what will be happening.
You will be met, mid-morning, at Bordeaux airport where we will shuttle you back to your amazing home for the next few days, overlooking the medieval castle. (If your flight arrives later, then you need to arrange shuttling to Aubeterre-Sur-Dronne.)
After settling in we’ll get to know each other over lunch at home, before chatting about the world of photography and the agenda for the next few days.
The afternoon is yours with the option of wandering around the medieval village of Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, before an Al fresco dinner is served at your accommodation.
Wednesday 10 June
The day starts off with a French breakfast before heading out to the town of Périgueux in Dordogne – the foie gras capital, to photograph the spread-out market connected by cobbled streets.
Brantôme, “ the Venice of the Périgord” is the next destination on the tour where we’ll enjoy lunch at a 1* Michelin restaurant, overlooking the river, before photographing the narrow streets, life along the meandering stream and the famous Abbey Caves.
The day will wind down with a light dinner at home.
Thursday 11 June
Day 3 is local, relaxing, and includes the option of starting off with sunrise shots in and around the village before returning to the house for a healthy breakfast. The morning continues at a leisurely pace where we recap the previous day’s images.
Weather permitting, we’ll enjoy a pique-nique lunch on the banks of La Dronne River.
The Afternoon is for your own leisure, which could include retail therapy at some of the local shops and galleries or a visit to the famous Monolithic Church. Later we’ll head down to “La Place du Marché” for French crȇpes and cider. For those with the energy we’ll wander around and photograph the village underneath the streetlights and the night sky.
Friday 12 June
The first of the early (ish) starts, where we stop off at a local patisserie for a breakfast of Viennoiseries (French Pastries) on route to Saint-Emilion, the historical Bordeaux wine producing village where we will photograph-reportage/street style, life in the busy village.
The morning photography session will be followed with a 3-course lunch in a 1* Michelin restaurant which dates to the 1800’s.
The tour is not all about photography and the lunch is followed by a visit to a wine cellar beneath the streets of the village.
The journey back to Aubeterre includes 1 stop for late afternoon landscape and windmill photography. The day ends off with a Cheese and wine platter at home overlooking the castle (weather permitting).
Saturday 13 June
The start of this day offers the option of getting up early and photographing the village during early light, or a leisurely lie in before heading out to Villebois Lavalette. Breakfast is served at home from 7am to 8.30am before we head out to the Villebois Lavalette market.
A farewell lunch in a restaurant in a quaint village nearby and a wonder around photographing the sights . During the meandering journey home, we stop off for some late afternoon landscape photography. The day ends off enjoying a light dinner at home and picture viewing.
Sunday 14 June
Departure day starts off with breakfast before a mid-morning run to the airport.

The second day starts off with a continental breakfast before heading out to the village of Bourdeilles to wander the streets and photograph at will. (There is the option to visit the 16th century castle – entrance fee for your cost.)

The start of this day begins with a French breakfast at home before heading out to Villebois Lavalette market. A relaxing lunch in a restaurant in a quaint village nearby and a wonder around photographing the sights. During the meandering journey home, we stop off for some late afternoon landscape photography.
The day ends off enjoying a light dinner at home and picture viewing.
Sunday 21 June
The setting up of the local market, down the cobblestone streets, begins around 8am with the stalls opening around 9am. The start of this day offers the option of getting up early and photographing the market set up, or a leisurely lie in before heading down to photograph, the stall holders, their goods and life in an intimate, local market. Breakfast is served at home from 7am to 9am offering you the option of when your day begins. Lunch consists of pique-nique on the banks of the La Dronne River.
The Afternoon is for your own leisure before we head down to “La Place du Marché” for a farewell dinner of French crȇpes and cider. For those with the energy we’ll wander around and photograph the village underneath the streetlights and the night sky.
