So my talks were running along very smoothly and every six weeks or so I would fly up to Johannesburg where I’d spend a week doing talks. After a week of talking up there I realised that I could now advertise that I was speaking nationally.Funny what a difference one word “nationally” can make to the response
During these talks-the details of which are on the previous post- I talk about how visualisation and affirmations work hand in hand if we want to achieve our goals. The audience-students ranging from 12-18 years old, all knew what a goal was, but were very quiet when I asked them what affirmations and visualisation were. I know that goal setting was being taught in Life Orientation classes but nothing was being taught about visualisation and affirmations.
The penny dropped…
I was going to put together workshops for teenagers to help them with the ideas that I’d written about in both The Magic that’s Ours
and The Power that’s Ours
And this is what I did.
The workshops are run for up to 12 students at a time, 90 minutes in length including a break and running over a 5 week period during term or over 5 days during school holidays.
As different age groups needs vary, I split the workshops up into two different age groups-one for Grade 8’s and 9’s and the other for Grade 10’s, 11’s and 12’s.
The topics covered throughout the course include:
- Values-Self-Belief
- Goal-Setting/Mind Mapping
- Affirmations
- Imagination/Visualisation
- Gratefulness/Rewards
The cost of the course also includes a signed copy of The Power that’s Ours- which is in line with one of my chief aims- to promote reading.
A few posts ago I spoke about the importance of marketing your book, instead of me rambling on about it have a look at this blog http://redhenassociation.com which gives interesting facts about book publishing as well as the importance of book promotion.
